There is no doubt that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing education, as it has enormous potential to increase the quality of teaching and learning. But how do we exploit these opportunities for everybody in the education domain? And how do we keep an eye on the social and societal aspects of AI? The answer is co-creation in partnership with government, business and citizens of the Netherlands.

AI will play an essential role in education innovation, education logistics and cooperation within and outside the educational chain. AI can substantially accelerate the current development of personalisation of education by supporting students in their learning pathway. Adaptive learning resources become even more valuable for students and instructors, thanks to AI. Moreover, with the arrival of AI, the role of instructors will also change. In short, AI has the power to turn the entire education chain upside down: from primary education to research, in both public and private domains.

How do we ensure to harness the potential of AI for talent development and use of students and employees? How do we shape the social and societal aspects of AI in education? All that is only possible if we work together: education, research, the business community, government and citizens of the Netherlands. Co-creating, with appropriate plans and a rapid call-to-action within the education domain.

    Working group

Within the working group, participants work together to identify the most significant opportunities and challenges for AI in the field of education, connecting cooperating partners to work on a unified programme and its execution. In this working group, separate teams focus on key benefits and aspects of AI strengthening the sector-independent building blocks of AI. We identify, accelerate and strengthen a valuable and balanced portfolio of AI initiatives and encourage cross-learning.
