Participation information

To stimulate and connect initiatives in Artificial Intelligence (AI), we as the Netherlands AI Coalition (NL AIC) are convinced that active collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders is essential, in their own field and with other stakeholders in the ecosystem.

To achieve maximum impact for the development and application of AI in the Netherlands, two participation options are offered: A participation or an introductory membership.

Participatie

In this variant, you as an organization are actively involved in the activities of the NL AIC. This includes receiving information about activities, invitations to meetings and events, as well as access to detailed information about the activities and projects of the various working groups. You have the opportunity to participate in projects, can exchange experiences with other participants and have access to partners among the other participants. Cost

The contribution for this participation is 15,000 euros per year for companies with sales greater than 25 million and 1,000 euros for other organizations. Attractive terms exist for collective participation and startups. In addition to the participation fee, active participation in an NL AIC activity is required.

Introduction

This variant is particularly interesting for small organizations that want to learn more about AI in general and what AI can do for them. As a participant, you have access to general information for up to three months and can participate in a working group and are welcome to attend certain events.

Cost

You can participate free of charge for the duration of three months. After three months, you can switch to participation membership (if desired). Costs are listed above.

Criteria for participation in the NL AIC

Only through proactive deployment of AI can we as the Netherlands help determine how AI is applied to social and economic challenges and benefit from it. AI is not an end in itself, but a powerful tool for maintaining and expanding our international competitive position and solving economic and social issues. The ambition of the Netherlands AI Coalition (NL AIC) is to work with participants to stimulate and connect initiatives in AI. To do this, it is important to accelerate at the national level, achieve economies of scale and gain efficiency and effectiveness in the process.

In order to accomplish this with all participants, we have established some criteria for participation:

  • Together, participants ensure that their initiatives contribute to one or more of NL AIC’s strategic objectives in the working groups:
    • Data Sharing: creating and implementing a national data sharing approach
    • Human Capital: developing, attracting and retaining AI talent for the Netherlands and developing the workforce in being able to work with AI
    • Human-centered AI: engaging (the Dutch) end users from the beginning in an inclusive approach, with attention to ethical frameworks, security and privacy, so that everyone is a winner with AI technology.
    • Research and Innovation: connecting the Dutch knowledge and innovation chain of AI, so that within the Netherlands there is collaboration on a coherent and coordinated AI research and innovation program.
    • Startups and Scale-ups: encouraging and supporting new AI driven businesses.
  • Participants make in-kind and in-cash contributions to the NL AIC and actively participate.
  • Participants commit to the NL AIC governance structure, participation agreement and program to strengthen AI for the Netherlands based on:
    • cooperation at the national level, focused on common learning and knowledge sharing;
    • A human-centered approach to AI.
  • Participants are legal entities established in the Netherlands (not private individuals) that have demonstrable activities (research, innovation, education, application) or plans that contribute to the development of the Netherlands in the field of AI.

Use cases

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI) anyway? We speak of AI when a system is capable, just as humans can, of making decisions independently based on observations (data) and learning from data.
