Ambition of the initiative
Existing organizations are able to search a centralized database for AI startups to collaborate with. For the selected startups, this initiative is a great way to present themselves to potential partners. Anita Lieverdink, working group Start–ups & Scale-ups: “It’s great that the Netherlands is participating in the European AI Startup Landscape. It’s a fantastic way to promote our selected startups on an international level and thereby increase their access to potential customers, partners and investors.”
Dutch startups can register until December 15, 2021 via this registration form. Applications after this date will be considered, but will be not in time for the international launch of the European AI Startup Landscape early next year. Selection takes place by an independent committee on the basis of jointly established criteria. For example, startups must have AI at their core, or demonstrate significant use of AI. In addition, they must be of sufficient size and have been established less than 10 years ago.
Every application is valuable, even though not every startup can be selected. The Netherlands AI Coalition (NL AIC) and the network of AI hubs in the Netherlands support every startup to grow. For example, the NL AIC organises matchmaking, knowledge exchange and there are specific initiatives to improve access to data, partners, capital and talent for startups. Stef Prinsen (AI hub South Holland): “We are very excited about this opportunity that the NL AIC offers to give Dutch companies an international stage. In line with this, we see additional opportunities for European matchmaking, to which regional AI hubs and partners are happy to contribute.”
