Saxion University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the Netherlands, with close to 27,000 students (and still growing!). Since its incarnation in 1998, Saxion University has come to be recognised as an important centre of expertise at a regional, national and international level.
AI is a key field of interest for several research groups (most prominently Ambient Intelligence and Mechatronics) and study programs (a.o. HBO-IT and Mechatronics). Research is carried out by researchers, teachers and students by looking at application and further development, always incorporating partners from the professional field.
Our research groups form the basis of applied research. Researchers take part in several working groups of NLAIC to provide input and improve collaboration. In addition, Saxion has a large student population involved with AI, in combination with a broad network of companies and institutes where applications of AI are of great importance.
